What this tool calculates

The calculator converts a user-entered investment amount and annual yield assumption into gross annual, monthly-equivalent, quarterly-equivalent, and optional after-tax amounts.

How to use it step by step

  1. Enter an investment amount.
  2. Enter an annual yield assumption as a percentage.
  3. Optionally enter a simplified tax rate.
  4. Choose a display currency and review the annual result before looking at monthly equivalents.

What the result means

The output shows the arithmetic income implied by the inputs if the assumed yield were sustained for a full year.

What the result does not mean

It does not mean a portfolio will actually pay that amount, that dividends will arrive monthly, that the assumed yield is safe, or that tax will match the simplified rate.

Common mistakes

  • Treating a historical yield as a future guarantee.
  • Assuming monthly-equivalent income means monthly payments.
  • Ignoring dividend cuts, special dividends, tax, fees, and currency.
  • Using nominal yield without checking the underlying dividend amount and price date.

Dividend income calculator FAQ

How do I estimate dividend income from an investment amount?

Multiply the investment amount by the annual dividend-yield assumption. A 100,000 investment at a 4% annual yield produces a simplified 4,000 annual gross-income estimate before tax, fees, dividend changes, and price changes.

Does this calculator predict future dividends?

No. The yield is an assumption entered by the user. The calculator only converts that assumption into annual, monthly, and quarterly income equivalents.

Can I share a scenario?

Yes. The calculator stores non-sensitive input values in the page URL so the same hypothetical scenario can be bookmarked or shared.
